Background sounds
13 sounds: rain, storm, thunder, campfire, forest, lake, ocean, birds, night, blizzard, footsteps, crowd and restaurant.
- Open the Vealo panel and the Audio tab.
- Click the sounds you want to hear. You can pick several at once: rain with a campfire, or forest with birds.
- One volume slider covers all sounds. Click a sound again to turn it off, and it fades out smoothly.
The loops repeat seamlessly, with no clicks at the joins. You can add your own sound too (Pro). When every sound is off, Vealo releases the audio device, so your PC can go to sleep normally.
Radio
Eight styles: Lo-fi, Ambient, Piano, Classical, Jazz, House, Techno and Hardstyle. The stations are picked by hand, by ear.
- In the same Audio tab, pick a radio style. Click it again to turn the radio off.
- The arrows next to the station name switch stations. The star adds a station to Favorites, and that style plays only yours.
- The radio shows in the player widget on your desktop: the station name, how long you have been listening, and a pause button right there.
Before playing, the radio buffers 5 seconds, so a station starts smoothly, and when you switch, the old one fades out. If a stream drops, the radio reconnects. If the network goes down, it shows a message and keeps trying on its own.
Sleep timer and visualizer
Two reasons it is handier to keep sounds in an app rather than a browser.
- Sleep timer: 15 or 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours. When it ends, sounds and effects fade out.
- Shut down the computer: turn it on next to the timer and the PC switches itself off. Start the rain, fall asleep, the machine turns off.
- Visualizer (Pro): a bar, wave or ring on your wallpaper reacts to everything playing on the PC, including the radio and the background sounds.
- They mix. Sounds with each other and with the radio, which has its own volume.
- No seams. Seamless loops, smooth start and end, no clicks.
- They let go of the sound card. Turn the sounds off and the audio device is free.
- Free. The whole radio and two sounds, rain and campfire, are in the free version.

What is free?
The whole radio and two sounds: rain and campfire. The other sounds, your own files and the visualizer are part of Pro.
Do I need the internet?
Only for the radio. The background sounds live inside the app and play offline.
Can I play radio and sounds at the same time?
Yes. The radio and the sounds have separate volume, so you can mix them, lo-fi with rain for example.
Does it slow down my PC?
Audio runs on its own thread and uses almost no CPU. Sounds that are off don't hold the sound card.
